Why Aftermarket for my vehicle?

Aftermarket parts are built to meet OEM fit, form and function, but the manufacturer has chosen to verify the quality with an internal quality assurance process. The independent verification process increases the manufacturing expense of the product. How can I tell a part is OEM?
